Welcome to the Cub Country this 2014-2015 school year, Mabuhay...!!!
The main purpose of the library is to provide the users with what they want_ or need for educational and leisure reading. The role of the school library is to provide a space both physical and virtual where learning can happen, where information can be transformed into knowledge and understanding, where students and staff feel secure and safe and thus able to focus on the activity they have chosen to perform or do in the library. We also need to have a library where every students are able to express themselves and learn by themselves for self exploration, knowledge and understanding and a place where students thoughts, opinions and values are cultivated and accepted. Libraries should provide people answer to their questions so that they are able to be in charge of their learning and more than that of their lives.
The purpose of a school library is to provide a wide range of books and multimedia resources to support teaching and learning throughout the key stages, and foster a reading and information culture that promotes independent motivated readers and learners for life. Hopefully, it should be appropriately staffed and funded and accessible to the whole school community during and outside the school day. |
Library Quotes “A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people - people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.” ― E.B. White “A good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them.” ― Lemony Snicket, Horseradish: Bitter Truths You Can't Avoid “What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education.” ― Harold Howe |
